Forunately, I have been blessed with a brother who has Down's syndrome. I have never uttered the r-word in my life. To me, this word has one meaning--and it's both derogatory and disrespectful no matter how you "use" it. I pledge, will you? :)

I pledge to end the R- word because I have a sister with severe Autism and I believe this word is very offensive and should not be used in that way. I hear people around my school say it often and I am hurt and bothered by it.
