Camp counselors come together to raise awareness and take the pledge!

In conjunction with the 10th anniverary of Camp SOAR (Special Olympics Athletic Retreat)students from Charlotte Catholic High will plan events to commemorate the anniversary, including a Spread the Word to End the Word Rally.

Porter Ridge High School's student body will hold a Spread the Word to End the Word Youth Rally in conjunction with Special Olympics Union County's Spring Games.

Metrolina Christian Academy's Junior Civitan Club will lead the high school students in a youth led rally to Spread the Word to End the Word. The rally will be help in conjunction with the schools chapel services to incorporate the entire student body.

Franklin Academy Rotary Interact will encourage students, faculty, and staff to pledge to not use the R word. Following a week of educational announcements and posters, individuals will be invited to take the pledge on computers in the school library. A goal of 500 pledges has been set.

The students from Statesville High School will buddy with the athletes from Special Olympics Iredell County Spring Games. The students will lead the different track and field events, and they will also act as buddies for the near 300 athletes.

I am spreading the word as part of my mitzvah project for my Bat Mitzvah! All of the guests will pledge the day of my event.

If you are a Delhi student and you believe the r-word is not a toy, then please join your fellow students in the fight to erase the "R" word.

Students staged a three hour awareness campaign where people could sign a banner pledging to at least rethink using, and hopefully stop using, the r-word. It went extremely well. Youtube video linked here:

The students at W. M. Irvin Elementary School will hold a student run pep rally in preparation of the Special Olympics Cabarrus County Spring Games to promote the Spread the Word to End the Word Day.

Student pledge drive to end the r-word, and also there will be a Spread the Word to End the Word Pep-Rally.

Turrentine Middle School will be holding Dance and Pep Rally to promote the R-word pleadge.
