Dartmouth Spread the Word to End the Word Campaign

Dartmouth Special Education Parents Advisory Council wants you to help spread the word to end the word. The purpose of this online/ social media pledge event is to raise awareness of the derogatory use of the r-word (retard or retarded) and its negative effects on people with intellectual impairments, as well as the families and friends. However, this campaign is about more than just raising awareness of the R-word; it is also about changing the attitudes of segregation and hate, to attitudes of acceptance, inclusion, tolerance, understanding. Lets focus on a better r-word: RESPECT.
